When I put the call out to say that I was keen to get in some sunrise beach sessions J signed her family up almost straight away with the thought that she wanted to squeeze in one last photo session before they became a family of four.
I love so much that not only were these guys keen to get themselves and their little man out of bed and drive out to the beach before the sun had even come up but that J was so thoughtful in the things she brought along to help document their family as it is in this moment.
Little L kept me on my toes as we zoomed through the sand with his favourite dump truck and he enjoyed showing me how loud he could roar as he played dinosaur sandcastles with his Mum and Dad.
As I watched them I could see that these are the moments that this family lives for the ones where time slows down for just a little while. Where you can spend the morning building sandcastles, jumping waves together, and maybe splashing Dad with a cheeky dump truck full of water. These are the moments that show little L just how he is right now with all his favourite things.
As I’m writing this out it makes me smile knowing that they’ll have these moments to look at in a few years time when the memories of dinosaurs and dump trucks have gotten a little fuzzy because they’ve moved onto the next round of favourite things and remember the smiles and eyebrow raises, the roars and giggles, and see the world from a Littler L’s eyes.
